What Is AT?

Assistive Technology is any device, piece of equipment or system that is used to increase, maintain, or improve the functional capabilities of a child with a disability. It also includes the services related to selecting and using the AT.

While AT can range from "no tech" to "high tech", consideration utilizes a framework for decision-making based on each student's Individualized Education Program (IEP).  Kent ISD supports educators across area districts with professional learning, resources, decision-making practices and trial equipment.
